Best time to visit Indonesia

Our verdict

The best time to visit Indonesia is May-June

Based on a number of criteria such as the weather conditions, cost of flights and hotels, peak travel seasons and much more, May-June is the best time to go to Indonesia.

The warmest month of the year in Jakarta, one of the most popular travel destinations in Indonesia, is October, where the average maximum temperature gets to around 32℃ (89℉). Temperatures can reach as high as 36℃ (97℉) on the hottest days in summer. The temperature at night in the winter can drop to as low as 23℃ (74℉), although this can differ at other destinations across Indonesia depending on the geography.

The longest days between sunrise and sunset in Indonesia are usually in March, so if you want to get the most out of your daytime activities, be sure to plan your visit around this time. March sees the most amount of rain in a month if you’re ok with chancing getting drenched, so if you’re looking to stay dry, visit in August instead.
