The best time to visit Zhangjiajie is May
In summer, the average maximum temperature is around 30℃ (87℉), but temperatures can sometimes reach as high as 32℃ (90℉) on the hottest days of the year. The weather in the winter, especially around January, can reach a minimum of -5℃ (23℉).
The days are longest in Zhangjiajie in July, so if you want to see the sights during the day when the sun is up for the longest time, it’s best to visit around that time of year. You don’t want to get wet on your holiday, do you? Well if you’re trying to avoid the rain, then steer clear of Zhangjiajie in June. Head over there in December instead if you want to increase your chances of not being rained on.
